If you’re looking for a cool treat in South Austin, then Lick is the place for you. Selling homemade ice creams made from 100% locally sourced ingredients. With ever changing creative and delicious seasonal flavors (even some Vegan flavors on offer) Lick has an interesting flavor for everyone.
Tucked behind El Meson and Barley Swine on South Lamar, Lick is definitely worth a visit. On offer is ice cream (in scoops and pints), cane sugar sodas, floats and Lick t-shirts. The super friendly staff are very knowledgeable about the flavors and what goes into making all of their phenomenal seasonal ice cream.
Opened in 2011 in Austin, Lick has had a lot of success catering to the city’s ‘savvy palette’ and have since opened a branch in San Antonio!
Now, the real (and best reason, in my opinion) to head to Lick is for the ice cream flavors – Goat Cheese, Honey and Thyme, Vegan Vanilla Pear, and Too Hot Chocolate to name a few. But my favorite flavors by far were the Roasted Beet and Fresh Mint, the Cilantro and Lime and one of the new flavors for fall: Apple Cheddar Shortie.
Open every day from 12:30 – 10:00, Lick is very worth a visit when you’re wandering around South Austin! Just make sure you get there before the crowds!
