A few years ago, Jen transplanted from her native Nashville area to Knoxville, TN, near the gorgeous Smoky Mountains. She shares her little hobbit-hole of a home (it’s actually a basement apartment) with her husband, Rob, and their four darling cats who NEVER cause trouble of any sort. They spend their evenings binge-watching shows on Netflix, discussing the nuances of Doctor Who and other fine programs, drinking wine, and reminiscing about their trip to Ireland last year.
Jen knew from the time she could form letters with a crayon that she would be a writer one day. It started with fantastical stories about living pumpkins, written on construction paper, and led to a career in media and later, public relations. These days, she’s trying to “redefine” her career, while getting back to the things she loves most – creative writing (including finally getting out the story she’s had in her head for 15 years), crocheting, baking delicious cupcakes, and dreaming about the time when she can next hop on a plane. She would give anything to have a British or Irish passport, and she and Rob are just waiting for the moment when someone offers them a chance to move to the British Isles for good.
You can find Jen and Rob on their new blog, nerdistheword.com, and on the following social media:
